Conny van der Neut is een veelzijdige en gepassioneerde Utrechtse kunstenaar, grafisch ontwerper en docent, die haar werk diep verankert in haar verbondenheid met de natuur. Vanuit haar atelier, De Alkhof, creëert ze kunst die het ritme en de schoonheid van de seizoenen weerspiegelt. Haar werk is een harmonieuze samensmelting van natuurlijke elementen en creatieve expressie, waarbij ze technieken toepast als ecoprinting, botanische prints en het gebruik van zelfgeteelde verfplanten en zelfgemaakte inkten.
Ze vervaardigt onder andere unieke sjaals, handgeschept papier, ingelijste natuurprints en ansichtkaarten, waarbij elk stuk het resultaat is van een ambachtelijk proces en een aandachtige waarneming van de natuurlijke omgeving. Bladeren, bloemen en bast worden zorgvuldig verzameld, verwerkt en afgedrukt, wat leidt tot werk dat zowel poëtisch als tastbaar is.

Ik laat de tekeningen zien die op zelfgeschept papier zijn gemaakt, hierbij laat ik me inspireren door de vrij toevallige structuur van het volledig zelf vervaardigde papier, en voeg hier telkens een variatie aan arabesken aan toe, die soms gedwongen het papier volgen, maar ook vaak de vrije hand krijgen. Een manier om iets ouds om te zetten in iets nieuws en kwetsbaars. Dat alles onder het thema reduce, recycle en re-use.
Stil leven
Ik maak met de hand vilten vaasjes die ik vul met zorgvuldig gekozen droogbloemen. Elk object is een stille ode aan de seizoenen, aan vergankelijkheid en aan de kracht van zachte vormen. Mijn werk nodigt uit tot vertraging: het is bedoeld om het hele jaar door te blijven staan, als een stilstaand moment van aandacht en schoonheid.
Eco-print sjaals
De afdrukken op mijn sjaals, komen van planten en bomen uit mijn buurt en uit eigen tuin, deze geven fantastische kleuren en vormen af.
Ansichtkaartjes
Er zijn ansichtkaartjes waarop Bladerwezens staan, gemaakt van gedroogde bladeren en bloemen. En kaartjes met details van de afdrukken die op mijn sjaals staan, leuk om op te sturen. Je kunt deze kaarten ook als print op A4 bestellen in een mooie houten lijst.

Conny van der Neut is a versatile and passionate artist, graphic designer, and educator based in Utrecht, whose work is deeply rooted in her connection with nature. Working from her studio, De Alkhof, she creates art that reflects the rhythm and beauty of the seasons. Her work is a harmonious fusion of natural materials and creative expression, using techniques such as ecoprinting, botanical impressions, and pigments and inks made from plants she grows herself.
She produces unique scarves, handmade paper, framed nature prints, and postcards—each piece the result of an artisanal process and a careful observation of the natural world. Leaves, flowers, and bark are thoughtfully collected, processed, and printed, resulting in work that is both poetic and tangible.
Alongside her artistic practice, Conny is also active as a teacher of drawing, illustration, and jewelry-making. She shares her knowledge and passion for nature through workshops, courses, and educational projects. I present a series of drawings made on handmade paper. These works are inspired by the organic, often unpredictable textures of the paper I create entirely myself. To this, I add a variety of arabesques—some tightly following the natural patterns in the paper, others allowed to move freely. It’s a way of transforming something old into something new and delicate, under the theme of reduce, recycle, reuse.
Still Life
I handcraft felted vases, which I fill with carefully selected dried flowers. Each object is a quiet homage to the seasons, to impermanence, and to the power of soft, organic shapes. My work invites stillness: it is meant to remain in place throughout the year, as a paused moment of attention and beauty.
Eco-printed Scarves
The prints on my scarves are created with plants and trees from my local surroundings and from my own garden. These natural elements release stunning colors and shapes onto the fabric.
Postcards
My postcards feature Leaf Creatures, made from dried leaves and flowers. Others show close-up details of the plant-based prints used on my scarves—perfect for sending to someone special. These designs are also available as A4 prints, beautifully framed in wood.
